Erdogan has found a workaround to Putin’s tactical nuke warning by sending more Daesh militants into Kurdish towns inside Syria instead of the regular Turkish government troops, as earlier planned together with Saudi Arabia.
“The Russian ceasefire monitoring center near Latakia says it is verifying reports of an attack on the Kurdish town Tell Abyad in northern Syria carried out by militants coming from Turkey.
The reports came overnight and claim that the forces coming from Turkey are using heavy artillery, according to Lt. Gen. Sergey Kuralenko, who heads the center for Syrian reconciliation.
“This information was verified though multiple channels, including representatives of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), [a rebel alliance that includes Kurds, Arabs and other ethnic groups and operates in the region],” he said.”
… Kurdish militias in Iraq and Syria are one of the few forces on that successfully opposed the spread of Islamic State and have been supported by the US. Ankara criticized Washington’s attitude, saying America should chose between the Kurds and the Turks.
Latest reports from Russian MoD indicates 100 Daesh militants has been repelled by the Kurds in the area,
“According to the Russian Defense Ministry, a group of up to 100 militants violated the Syrian border from Turkey and was later repelled by the Kurds.”
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia’s 150,000-strong “Northern Thunder” military exercise aimed at intimidating the Russia-led coalition in Syria has suffered 15 casualties including its high ranking officer. Remember, this is not real combat yet, and this recent mishap validates Iranian claims that the Saudi forces won’t last a day in a real firefight due to lack of combat experience.
TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Saudi officer was killed while taking part in wargames in the Northern part of the kingdom, media reports said.
Mohammad al-Ajami was killed during military maneuvers in Northern Saudi Arabia, the Arabic-language Sada newspaper reported on Saturday.
Over 150,000 soldiers from 20 countries are taking part in the military exercises codenamed ‘Northern Thunder’ in Northern Saudi Arabia.
The participating countries include Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, Oman, Jordan, Pakistan, Djibouti, Mauritania, Senegal, Sudan, Chad, Tunisia, Morocco, Comoros, Mauritius, Malaysia, Egypt and the Maldives.
Other media reports said at least 15 others have been killed during the drills.
Evidence of Saudi’s support for the terrorists was found inside recovered areas in Aleppo.
Erdogan’s decision to send it more of its terrorist troops is understandable. Too many of them were already expended inside the supposed ISIS capital city, Raqqa.
“TEHRAN (FNA)- The ISIL terrorists sustained heavy casualties in clashes with the Kurdish forces in Raqqa province on Saturday.
At least 45 ISIL terrorists were killed in tough battle with the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the town of Tal Abyadh in Raqqa province today.
In a relevant development earlier today, battlefield sources announced that the Kurdish forces had engaged in heavy fighting with the ISIL terrorists in Northern Raqqa.
The Kurdish forces stormed the ISIL positions near Tal Abyadh town and inflicted major losses on the terrorists.
Also on Friday, the YPG and SDF stormed the ISIL gathering centers near the villages of Marwaha in the Southeastern part of the town of Sarin, killed or wounded several terrorists and destroyed their military equipment and vehicles.
On Wednesday, the Kurdish fighters, after almost six day of intense battle against al-Nusra Front, the Free Syrian Army (FSA), Harakat Nouriddeen al-Zinki and Al-Shamiyah Front, imposed full control over the Bani Zeid Youth Housing Complex in Aleppo city.
The SDF that is comprised of mainly Kurdish fighters as well as a few hundred Syrian Arab dissident forces have received trainings from the US and have been provided with scanty US-coalition air support in their battles in Raqqa province in Northeastern Syria; but in Northern and Northwestern battlefronts, they have been operating alongside the YPG and received the Russian air backup in their Aleppo wars that started with the conquest of Tishrin Dam on the Euphrates early in February.
Assisted by the Syrian army – that has along with popular forces and Hezbollah conquered almost all militant-held regions in Eastern, Southern, Western and Northwestern Aleppo province – and Russian air support, the Kurdish forces fighting against the terrorists in North-Northeast Aleppo province have been making striking advances against the al-Nusra, Ahrar al-Sham and ISIL terrorists in February.
Earlier this month, the YPG and SDF fighters prevailed over the terrorists in the highly strategic city of Tal Rifat in Northern Aleppo and captured the city.
The YPG, who enjoyed the Russian air backup, prevailed the terrorists’ positions from the Western direction and shook hand with the Kurdish units of the SDF who entered the town from the North.”
The White House has formally surrendered to Putin’s wisdom of starting a peaceful resolution to the Syrian conflict through a ceasefire with legitimate oppositions in the country. This master stroke has exposed Erdogan’s real intentions and actual role in the whole Islamic State misadventure even further.
With Erdogan’s son, Bilal, under money laundering investigations by the Italian authorities, the pseudo-emperor’s desperation must be sky high, and the only next viable move would be to open the flood gates of more refugees into Europe.
