More than a day ago, ISIL leader was reported to be among those in a convoy that were fired upon by Iraqi forces. Initial reports could not confirmed that he was among the dead militants.
Now, a report has indicated he is fighting for his life in an undisclosed hospital.
Another recent development is the arrest of several people that were trained by ISIS group and are planning to hit Russian transport system with improvised explosives just like what happened few years ago.

Earlier it was reported that the leader of the Islamic State (ISIL) jihadist group had been injured in an airstrike in Iraq.
“Al-Baghdadi was wounded and currently is at a hospital of Al-Qaim. The hospital is encircled by the [ISIL] group’s militants,” a source told Sputnik.
The town of Al-Qaim is located in the northwest of Iraq on the border with Syria.
The Islamic State is a radical Sunni group that has ceased vast areas in Syria and Iraq. It aims to establish an Islamic caliphate on the occupied territories. The radicals have become notorious for numerous terrorist attacks and their mass executions, stoning of women and the beheading of foreigners.
On Wednesday, Iraqi Parliament Defense and Security Committee Chairman Haqim Zamli told Sputnik that Iraq may turn to Russia for military help in the fight against the Islamic State if Russian airstrikes in Syria prove successful.

The fate of “caliph” al-Baghdadi is unknown.
The local Shafaq News portal reported citing the Iraqi army’s statement that the airstrike had been carried after the intelligence received information on al-Baghdadi’s route to a meeting with the leadership of the terrorist organization.
“Iraqi air forces have bombed the convoy of the terrorist Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi while he was heading to Karabla to attend a meeting with Daesh commanders,” the statement said.
In November 2014, after an US airstrike speculations had arisen that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi was injured or even killed. But the US military did not confirm this information.

Arrested Over Plotting Terror Attack in Moscow Were Trained in ISIL Camps

“An address was located in Moscow where 6 to 11 persons periodically stayed, some of whom had received military training in Islamic State camps in Syria,” the statement reads.
Those arrested are Russian nationals; they had arrived in Russia before the Russian Aerospace Forces began carrying out airstrikes in Syria. A criminal case has been opened on the matter and the suspects face up to 20 years in prison.
They planned to commit a terror attack in the Russian capital’s public transportation, the service added.
“During the interrogation of two detainees it soon became known that they planned to carry out a terrorist attack on public transport in Moscow. Bandit underground provided them with money and gave them improvised explosive devices to organize and carry out a terror attack.”
On Sunday, the Russian National Counter-Terrorism Committee said in a statement that a group of people involved in plotting a terror attack in Moscow had been arrested, an improvised explosive device had been located and defused.
