US Spox John Kirby threatens Russia with “more body bags, attacks on Russian Cities”

In a veiled threat against the Russians, US State Department spokesman John Kirby warns Russia of ‘more body bags” and “attacks on Russian cities” if the Russians will not cooperate with them in Syria.

Kirby’s words didn’t go unnoticed by the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
“And those [acts of terrorism] will be perpetrated by ‘moderate’ [Syrian opposition groups]?” Zakharova asked in her Facebook post. “Just the ones that Washington has been unable to separate from Al-Nusra for as long as six months?”
“[What about] Terrorist attacks in France, America and other countries; the beheadings of people of all nationalities by Islamic State militants in Syria – is this all kind of a different paradigm? Perhaps another ‘parallel reality?’
… Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said on Thursday that the US statements on the suspension of cooperation with Russia on Syria amount to blackmail.
“It’s a policy of threats and blackmail, aimed at imposing solutions favorable to US and its clients,” Ryabkov told RIA Novosti. “It’s impossible to reach a settlement and stabilization on such basis. But there’s no winning love by force. We have our own approach and principles,” he added.
Lavrov told Kerry that the US has long promised to separate the rebels from terrorists, citing a recent interview of an Al-Nusra commander, revealing how the group is receiving outside support, including American weapons. He also told Kerry that a number of US-backed groups are working side by side with the Al-Qaeda affiliate Al-Nusra Front.
‘Russia will continue to send troops home in body bags’: US warns Moscow if Syria violence goes on
Unless Russia “stops the violence” in Syria, extremists would “exploit the vacuum” to attack Russian interests and even cities, the US State Department has said.
Extremist groups will continue to exploit the vacuums that are there in Syria to expand their operations, which could include attacks against Russian interests, perhaps even Russian cities. Russia will continue to send troops home in body bags, and will continue to lose resources, perhaps even aircraft,” John Kirby, the State Department’s spokesperson, told reporters at Wednesday’s press briefing.
If the war continues “more Russian lives will be lost, more Russian aircraft will be shot down,” Kirby said.
Early on Wednesday, US Secretary of State John Kerry threatened to end all cooperation between the United States and Russia to stop Syria’s civil war, unless Moscow and Damascus ended the current attack on East Aleppo.
“We are working through steps that we might have to take to begin to suspend our engagement with Russia on Syria. We haven’t taken those steps yet,” said Kirby. “The message to the [Russian] Foreign Minister today was that we are perfectly willing and able to move forward on those steps that would end with the suspension of US-Russia bi-lateral engagement in Syria.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov presented a different version of the call with Secretary Kerry, with the demand that the US live up to its obligation to separate opposition forces from extremist groups.
The US promised long ago to separate the rebels from terrorists and it needs to live up to that obligation, Lavrov told Kerry, bringing up the recent interview of an Al-Nusra commander about how the group is receiving outside support – including American weapons – as well as the statement of a Syrian opposition leader Riyad Hijab that he did not consider Al-Nusra terrorists.
Foreign Minister Lavrov told Kerry that many US-backed groups are working side by side with the Al-Qaeda affiliate, and brought up media reports that Nusra was receiving weapons from the US.
During the press briefing, Kirby said the US had “influence over some of the [rebel] groups but not all.”
“There are other nations that have influence. We have admitted that not all opposition groups on every single day have abided by it, and we have continued to work with them on that,” Kirby said, asked about the rebels’ violations of the Syrian ceasefire.
The Obama Administration has consistently called for regime change in Syria, and Kirby told reporters on Wednesday “Obviously, we don’t want to see the regime acquire any additional territory” in Aleppo.
In response to the statement that Russia was targeting Nusra Front and terrorists, Kirby said “That’s not what’s happening. They’re hitting hospitals, civilian infrastructure.”
When asked about the US arming Saudi Arabia, Kirby said the State Department had been critical about the “lack of precision in some strikes” in Yemen.
“We have a strong defense relationship with Saudi Arabia, and Saudi Arabia is under attack from missiles that are finding their ways to Yemen from Iran,” said Kirby, rejecting any comparison between what was happening in Yemen and what was happening in Syria, as “a ludicrous exercise.”

Explaining why he thought Russia should agree to US demands, Kirby said, “We know that they (Russians) want a measure of cooperation between our two militaries. We know that they want the establishment of a joint implementation center. We want that, too.”
Washington has dragged its feet on setting up the JIC, however, with Kirby telling reporters on September 16 that its establishment was contingent on humanitarian aid reaching Aleppo.
“We don’t have any intention of having an intelligence sharing agreement with the Russians,” GeneralJoseph Dunford, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, told lawmakers last Tuesday.
Former congressman Dr. Ron Paul says Washington “should not be there [Syria]” at all, despite this being an “unpopular” opinion in political circles, because the intervention contributes to jihadists expanding even further.
“So, I think we are doing the wrong thing,” he told RT. “I don’t think it’s good for our national defense. I think it makes us more vulnerable, because it does create more enemies. It’s unpopular to suggest that maybe our presence over there contributes significantly to those who become radical jihadists and would like to do us harm.”
Paul says moreover the US has no “moral authority” to be in Syria and has been violating its own laws.
“It’s not a proper function – we don’t have the moral authority. We haven’t followed our own laws that said that we should not be involved in war and [the] overthrow of governments without a declaration of war,” he said.
To make good of its threats, the US-led coalition is unleashing another fresh attacks on Deir Ezzur province where 90 Syrian soldiers died from its 1-hr air raids which led to the collapse of the last Syrian ceasefire, a week ago.
Syria: US-Led Coalition Hits Deir Ezzur Again
TEHRAN (FNA)- The US-led coalition warplanes launched airstrikes on two main bridges on the Euphrates River in Deir Ezzur province, days after they killed at least 90 Syrian soldiers in an air assault in the same region in Southeastern Syria.
The state news agency’s reporter in Deir Ezzur said Wednesday that the air raids destroyed al-Asharah Bridge that links the river’s two banks in the Eastern part of the province in Southeastern Syria, only few hours after demolishing al-Mayadin Bridge in the same region near the border with Iraq.
The reporter added that the destruction of the two bridges has been aimed at disconnecting the regions on the two eastern and western banks of the river.
The US-led coalition warplanes targeted the Syrian army troops near the city of Deir Ezzur on September 17, leaving over 90 military personnel dead and a hundred wounded.
Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed a report by the Syrian state news agency that an ISIL offensive began right after Syrian Army positions were hit by the bombers of the US-led coalition.
The actions of the coalition “clearly paved the way for ISIL terrorists to attack the position and take control of it,” the agency said citing the General Command of the Army and Armed Forces.
The General Command called the bombing a “serious and blatant aggression” against Syrian forces, and said it was “conclusive evidence” that the US and its allies support ISIL terrorist group.
A day later, a military source disclosed that the ISIL launched attacks on the Syrian army positions in Deir Ezzur only 7 minutes after the US-led coalition’s airstrikes.
The military source reiterated that the air and ground assault were highly coordinated.
A Syrian top official said the country’s intelligence unit possesses an audio recording of a conversation between the ISIL group and the US military before the airstrikes by the US-led coalition on the Syrian army troops near Deir Ezzur on September 17.
The speaker of the People’s Council of Syria, Hadiya Khalaf Abbas, said on Tuesday that after the US coalition’s airstrikes on the government troops, US military directed terrorists’ attack on the Syrian army.
It is with great displeasure that we warn everyone of a much bigger false flag operation within the United States soon, as the Khazarian psychopaths continue to fight against their own shadow.

  1. You are playing with words! I opened the RT link and there is no threat from the USA that can be interpreted from the ENGLISH STATEMENTS MADE. INSTEAD there exists a political and military analysis of the situation. STRICTLY STATING WHAT IS BEING SAID!

    1. No one is playing with words. Kirby has become the latest international joke slithering like a snake around giving straight answers. He did use the veiled threat about the body bags and terrorists attacks, but everyone except ameriKKKans know that ISIS = US. The US is the prime sponsor and paymaster, it personal air force, supplier of weapons and propaganda voice for ISIS.

    2. No one is playing with words besides Kirby, slither around like a snake avoiding giving any direct answer. He mentioned body bags and terrori attacks while the entire world knows that US = ISIS, everyone seems to know it except ameriKKKans. What he did was make a veiled threat since the US is ISIS, provides ISIS an air force, pays them well, arms them and makes their propaganda. So indeed if any Russians are killed either in Syria or at home, from terrorists, we know who is pulling the strings.

    3. You’re right. The State Department website has a transcript of this interview and shows clearly that the US was not threatening Russia, but that extremist groups would continue the mayhem.

    4. F Gregg Meagher – you FACKING DUMB.
Some one tell you FACKING IDIOT he going kill you, blow your home, -HOW you LITTLE FACKER take this?
      Pile of FACKING GUANO.

  2. “more Russian aircraft will be shot down” by who? The US and IsraHELL??? Remember, they INVADED Syria, were never invited!

  3. Kirby, Kerry, Hellary, Obama, McCain, have been total failures in middle east policy beginning with all of the ‘Arab Spring’ misfires. This covert diplomacy has been a complete disaster at the expense of thousands of lives…..they have blood on their hands that will never wash off!
